Player Profile – Nick Watney

A native of Sacramento, Calif., Nick Watney held the number one spot in college golf in the fall of his senior year at Fresno State University before playing on the Nationwide Tour in 2004, when he won the Nationwide Tour Championship to finish fifth on the Money List.

After narrowly losing his PGA TOUR card in 2005, he finished fifth in the PGA TOUR Q-School and had six finishes of T-9 or better in 2006. He led after three rounds at the 2007 Zurich Classic of New Orleans and closed with 69 to win by three shots and 15 under par, moving from 171 to 93 in the world golf rankings.

Watney's support of Wounded Warrior Project:

Watney is proud to support the efforts of the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP), a non-profit organization dedicated to providing tangible comfort and unique, direct support to meet the specialized needs of severely injured service men and women as they recover and transition to civilian life.

Among other programs, WWP provides wounded warrior backpacks and transitional care packages for severely wounded soldiers upon their arrival at military trauma centers.
