To everyone involved, I played in today's Birdies for the Brave. I was given the opportunity to play today because I am currently assigned to the Honor Support Team at NAS Jacksonville. We spend our days parading the colors of our country at various events and being present at the final resting place for veterans of our United States military.
I spent the last 2 hours telling my wife, through tears, the experience I had today. Today I met generals, admirals, war veterans and TOUR professionals. I am an enlisted sailor from Saint Augustine unsure about his future in the armed forces and I would like to tell you that after spending the day at TPC Sawgrass I am leaning ever further towards staying on active duty. Never before have I felt so much love for the efforts put forth by the United States military as I did today. Wounded Warriors is the ONLY foundation my mother and father will donate to and now I understand why. As I sit on my couch tonight I am still dumbfounded. You would think that a tournament like today would be an eye opening experience for "civilian" attendees. Today was an eye opening experience for this ACTIVE DUTY service member. I am so proud of your foundation and your willingness to give those service members in need a helping hand. The only thing I am sure of is that after my days as an active duty sailor, Birdies for Brave will be able to count on me as a supporter and donor. I will never forget the experience I had today.
